2–6 August 2017
There was a time when Malcolm could attract a boy with the wink of an eye, but these days even having his usual rent boy replaced at the last minute can put a spanner in the works. So when Billy turns up, the night really doesn’t look like it’s going to end well.
Against the odds, Malcolm’s stories break the ice, and two people who appear to have barely a thing in common find themselves sharing more than just a bed.
As we approach the 40th anniversary of the first Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, the respective experiences of gay men growing up then and now are profound. Trevar Alan Chilver’s poignant script brings these differences to life like never before.
78 Reasons to Stay the Night premieres in Canberra Theatre Centre’s Courtyard Studio this August for a strictly limited season: book now to avoid disappointment!
