Message from our Director

Wednesday 18 March – 3pm

A message from our Director:

We are mindful of the growing impact of COVID-19 and we feel that the safest path for our patrons, artists, staff and crew is to close the Canberra Theatre Centre from today until 19 April and to cancel or postpone all performances during this period.

Where possible, affected performances will be rescheduled to later in the year. If you hold tickets to performances during this period, we will contact you by email to inform you of new performance dates or to issue a refund. We ask for your patience during this time.

It is not in our DNA to turn away our beloved audiences and the performers they love. It pains me and the hard-working team at the Canberra Theatre Centre to do so as we face such an interruption, for the first time in the Centre’s history. This pandemic will have a far-reaching, long-term effect on the ACT and Australian live performance industries, and we intend to support artists and presenters to the best of our ability during this challenging time. I implore you to join us in supporting the industry across this time, and especially once we are able to open our doors again.

Performances outside of the closure period remain on sale, and you should feel confident purchasing tickets and supporting artists with our assurance that if there are cancellations you will receive a refund.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Canberra Theatre Centre with open arms.  Until then, I send my very best wishes during this most unsettling time.

Kind Regards,

Alex Budd

Director, Canberra Theatre Centre
