Message from our Director

UPDATE: Wednesday 22 July 2020

A message from our Director:

After more than four months of closure we’re excited to be taking steps towards opening our doors again.

In August, we open for a series of shows in the Link Bar, where we invite you to experience some of Canberra’s best performers. Our first Link Bar performance to go on sale features seminal Canberra metal bands Pod People, Wretch and Lucifungus, and we look forward to announcing more performances in the coming weeks.

For patrons’ safety attendees will be required to provide their names and phone numbers for contact tracing. Venue capacity will be managed in line with prevailing government health directions. Tickets will be sold in sets of four, with each group seated at their own table, and patrons will be required to observe physical distancing requirements.

Also in August, we are delighted to welcome for the first time at the Canberra Theatre Centre, the Canberra Writers Festival.  Tickets to these live and streamed events are extremely limited and selling fast.

Our digital season, CTC@Home, also continues through to Friday 7 August, featuring local musicians, storytellers, dancers, gamers and more. With a mix of interactive shows and performances, there’s something for everyone, and we are excited to continue to share the best of Canberra’s arts community with the world

If you have tickets to one of our many upcoming performances, please keep an eye on your email – we will contact you if there are changes to your booking and advise of rescheduled dates or refund options. Performances currently affected by the closure are listed here.

We look forward over the coming months to seeing greater and greater numbers of Canberrans return to our much loved concerts and performances. In the meantime please join us online through CTC@Home or in the Link Bar to experience some of Canberra’s best artists, presenting working in innovative and exciting ways.

We encourage you to subscribe to our eNews and connect with us on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to stay up-to-date with everything happening at Canberra Theatre Centre.

Kind Regards,

Alex Budd
Director, Canberra Theatre Centre
