27–30 September 2017
Lenin: A Rock Opera chronicles the rise of the Bolsheviks in Russia from its humble beginnings as a small gathering of revolutionaries to the rulers of the former Russian Empire. It traces the journey of visionary leader Vladimir Lenin as he topples the Tsarist regime and establishes one of the first socialist states in the world. Lenin’s relationships with Trotsky, Stalin and Krupskaya are also explored throughout the show. This original musical features rock ballads, large chorus numbers and tender introspective solos performed by the residents of Fenner Hall.
